Cats and Dogs

My dad gave me the idea of asking a question about dogs, then he said "how about you ask what do people like more cats or dogs and why?" So my question to you is what animal do you like more cats or dogs? and why? I will count the amount of cats people pick and the amount of dogs people pick and in 3 days i will say who is more popular a cat or a dog.

ps.What's the name of your favorite cat or dog?

DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS!!!!!!Dogs are sooooo much cooler then cats and they are cuter, they listen to you and play with you. They are all together better animals. + they are man's best friend. My favorite dog is definitely the Boston Terrier

I love German Shepherds. This is because growing up, the neighbours had two dogs that adopted us. One was a German Shepherd mix who was extraordinarily smart, beautiful, and loyal. The other was a Bermese Mt. dog who decidedly dumb, ugly, and clueless.

I like dogs better than cats unless the dogs only come up to your ankles. When faced with the choice between a chihuahua and cat, I chose the cat any day.

But give me a lab, golden retriever, or better yet German shepherd for my money's worth of loving.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

totally dogs! i hate cats for some reason, probably because the last time i tried to pet a cat, it pretty much jumped on my head. plus cats cough up furballs, and last night i was babysitting these kids and they had a siamese cat, and it made the creepiest noise ever, kind of like a dying man. Eli is my favorite puppy, but actually my favorite dogs are dalmatians. Ever since i first saw the disney cartoon 101 dalmatians, i've always wanted one.

dogs!

Janie is the name of my favorite dog.

i like dogs (only my dog, really) because she follows me around, and she acts like I'm important to her. She also sort of smiles when people come home. And she huffs and puffs when someone drives up, so it's a nice alarm system.

my cat Olive really is a sweety too.

dogs--if it's small and dosen't bark. if it's a big and dumb i'd choose the cat. (big and dumb= golden retrievers, labradors, and the like)

I think cats are so peaceful and relaxing the way they sleep all the time and I think they can give a home a calm vib because of it. I hate the way they eat bunnies in the yard thus we no longer have a cat. They are prissy-if the home routine changes, they may very well fuss about it by going potty in the house like our cat started doing when Dame was in the hosp last winter--bye bye kitty. I still would like to have a big sleepy cat someday that stays inside. Cats for me.

totally dogs. the drexlers have the cutest little doxen running around their place.. every Sunday I go she's runnin all over the place and so so small... I LOVE HER! i totally like dogs more.. they're not stuck up and they don't think they deserve their own kingdom. and they can run into trees and doors and pull it off but when cats do that, they just look plain STUPID!

oh and my favorite dog name is Jember. (of course)

Hi Pax,

I take dogs over cats. Dogs, like you said, are more obedient. Also, cats are suspicious and I always feel like they're trying to pull a fast one on me. On the other hand, cats catch mice, but you can't wrestle with cats the way you can with dogs.

You should skip school this week and come back to Chattanooga with your brother.

DOGS! Especially after this week when my neighbors cat got worms and they were crawling out of his behind. Hopefully this visual image will make all you cat lovers lose the loving and move into doggy delight. Dogs ARE better.

Favorite dog was Oliver.

dogs can get worms, too. that is an irrational reason for dog preferences. :)

I'm generally a no-pet person, though I like animals, I don't have the patients in being a pet owner. But if I have to choose, I'de say Dogs. Those who have known me over the years will know that I've had a long streak of run-ins with cats (Vincent says my nostrils are flaring as I write this). These creatures have sprayed their odor in my face while I was reading IN my bed. They have peed in my laundry basket many a times. They have peed and pooped on my bed sevearl times. They have ruined my down comforter. They have peed on my bags, they would pulled my clothes around the house and hump them and tore them. They have shredded my scarfs. Last but not least, they have been flea infested (Which by the way are harder to treat on cats than dogs). So, for an entire summer my ENTIRE body was covered in flea bites; my legs were swallon and I still have scars to prove it. My only cure was to spray bug spray on my ENTIRE body (and I mean 'entire'), every time I got out of the shower, every time I got into bed, every time I changed my clothes and every time I got out of bed. I went through a bottle of bug spray a week. So if anyone wants to know if I like cats...the answer is 'no'.

PS-when I say 'pee', it was cat spray. And yes, they were neutered, but some cats still can spray...which is oilier and more pungent then actual pee.

OK, I gotta put in a word for cats here, or at least for my cat, Bronte. Yes, she wants everyone to believe that she's in charge, but I think she knows it's all just a facade. And it's fun to expose her. For instance, Bronte's favorite game is hide-and-seek, but if she really does hide well enough to not get caught, she doesn't get fed. She also likes to wrestle with my arm, and really fights as if she is a worthy adversary, but once I've had enough she knows she can't break my hold on her. Back when I had a rat, she was in on this too. Whenever Bronte stuck her nose into the cage out of curiosity, Shatovna would give the nose a "what for" with her front claws, and send Bronte across the room in shock every time! I think what I like most about cats is that they get me to laugh at myself and how ridiculous pride can make someone look.

My only two dogs...London, and Salvador. Greg had just finished reading White Fang when we got our black lab London. Thus, the connection. Greg named him. What a great dog he was. The father of our our yellow labm Salvador, was named Christopher Columbus...for real. As I was telling the kids about Mr. Christ-Bearer and how he named the new land "Holy Savior" (San Salvador) we all agreed that Salvador was a great name. Salvador was also born the week of Christmas, and we got him in February two weeeks after London died and Maria was sick with grief. He helped her heal. Salvador, Spanish for Savior,is just an all-around great name for him.
